The smooth voice of Leo Tomassini had already been admired in the two albuns he did with his group “Família Roitman”. This time, in a solo record, Leo shows he has evolved without changing his proposal of music. The choice of repertoire was even more careful and eclectic. His pleasant voice became more subtle and precise, revealing a more mature emotion. The songs range from old timer Sinhô to Caetano Velloso and includes works by Luiz Gonzaga, Tom Jobim, Elton Medeiros, Noel, Cartola, Edu&Chico, resulting in a very good selection. Leo beneffited from the creative string arrangements by young talents Felipe Trotta, Carlos Chaves, Paulo Aragão and Jayme Vignoli, all very active in the Brazilian Choro scene, but had also a helping hand from top musicians Leandro Braga and Maurício Carrilho.

This album marks the return of the “wizard” together with his group, after a long intermission of 12 years. To highlight this meeting the album has the special participation of Itiberê Orquestra Família, directed by Itiberê Zwarg (bass), formed by young musicians. All the themes are new and by Hermeto himself, who celebrates his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The 15 songs are named after his descendents, with the exception of Victor Assis Brasil, dedicated to the brilliant sax player, who died in 1981. Having the same experimental characteristics for which he became known, Hermeto Pascoal uses different instruments, making improvisations with contagious rhythms.
