Humberto Araújo is a musician who has deserved a solo CD for ages. Saxophonist, flautist, arranger, composer, he is frequently playing with names like Chico Buarque, Martinho da Vila, Jorge Benjor, Luís Melodia, Ivan Lins, Zeca Pagodinho, Beth Carvalho, Paralamas do Sucesso, Paulinho da Viola, Elza Soares and others, either in recordings or in shows all over Brazil and abroad. Much more than visiting the work of traditional composers, like Pixinguinha and Jacob do Bandolim, in "CHORO CRIOLO" Humberto uses all his talent and experience to propose a new way of interpretating choros, waltzes and maxixes, introducing Brazilian rhythm with the use of various percussion instruments. The result is a record with a new sonority, mixing swing and virtuosity.
